Quickstart
Create your first live key and generate your first short link with the API in five minutes.
The Beklio Link Developer API lets you manage your Link resources with real (live) data. All public requests go through the gateway under https://api.beklio.com/api/v1/links.
1. Create a key#
Sign in to the Developer console and create a bk_live_… key with only the scopes you need. The secret is shown only once, in the creation response; save it to a secret manager right away.
2. Send your first request#
curl -X POST "https://api.beklio.com/api/v1/links" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer bk_live_…" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: launch-2026-001" \
-d '{
"kind": "DIRECT",
"domainId": "bekl.io",
"url": "https://example.com/launch",
"slug": "launch"
}'The gateway normalizes responses into a { data, meta? } envelope, and every response carries an X-Request-Id header.
3. Next steps#
- Authentication and scopes — which operation needs which permission.
- Creating links — the difference between the short form and the full route graph.
- Errors and limits — how 401/403/409/429/503 behave.
In new integrations, send a unique Idempotency-Key with every mutation; after a network error you can safely retry with the same key.
Is something missing or wrong? Write to the support team; including the X-Request-Id value from the response speeds up the fix.
